"They're constantly asking me and Evan to make the Uncharted movie," Rogan told IGN..
"They've been asking us to write it for years," he added. "For, like, four years," Goldberg more precisely added, both of whom wrote and directed their recent comedy flick, This is the End.
"But it's just going to be Indiana Jones," said a reluctant Goldberg. "If we could figure out a way to make it not Indiana Jones, it'd be awesome."
The troubled Uncharted movie has slipped in and out of production since 2010. Progress appeared promising when Mark Wahlberg looked set (and keen) to play the role of lead protagonist Nathan Drake.
But production hit a bump when Burger took over as director in mid-2011 after David O. Russell, the previous man in the chair, quit over 'creative differences'.
And in late 2012, Burger also quit working on the project for reasons undisclosed. According to reports at the time, the movie's script was being re-written - again - this time by Marianne and Cormac Wibberley, who scribed Disney's 'National Treasure' and Sony's 'Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle'. A new director is apparently to be appointed when (if?) the script is completed.
